If you, as one adult, have an annual income between $13,781-$34,450, you may qualify for a 50% 1- or 2- bedroom apartment!
Rents will range from $740-$875 per month including water, sewer, and trash removal.
If you, as one adult, have an annual income between $34,451-$41,340, you may qualify for a 60% 1- or 2- bedroom apartment!
Rents will range from $825-$1,055 per month including water, sewer, and trash removal.
Section 8 and most housing vouchers are accepted.
ALL pages of the application must be completed and returned, or the application will not be accepted.

Due to high demand for affordable housing in the area and the limited number of apartments available, please be advised that the application process will close quickly. Developed in partnership by HDC MidAtlantic and Alliance for Building Communities, Inc. (ABC), 1528 West Apartments has added 49 affordable apartments for seniors 55+ with an established preference for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to Allentown, Pa. The community is located adjacent to the Community Music School and includes 35 one-bedroom apartments and 14 two-bedroom apartments. Approximately six of those apartments will comply with Americans with Disabilities Act design standards.
1528 West Apartments is close to public transportation, local stores, restaurants and more to promote independence. All residents will be able to enjoy numerous amenities, including a community room with a connected kitchen and flex space, wellness center, game room, laundry room on each floor, covered terrace, roof terrace, parking garage, bike racks, and a private storage area.

Wendy Smith serves as the Vice President of Property Management, responsible for the overall strategic direction for HDC’s management portfolio and the organization’s largest staff team. Previously, Wendy served as Asset and Operations Manager for a leading real estate firm based in New York City which owned over 11,000 affordable homes. Since 2008, Wendy has held roles in regional level operations for commercial and for-profit housing agencies. Wendy holds a degree in International Studies.
