College Avenue Development Updates

Phase 1 College Avenue Development

The development at 213 College Avenue is Phase 1 of a larger plan to redevelop the former UPMC/St. Joseph’s hospital site into a mixed-use site. We have been working diligently on this development over the last 24 months and are hopeful to break ground as soon as possible. This development is meeting the need for affordable housing in Lancaster and aligns with the priorities defined in the Lancaster County Places 2040 plan, the Lancaster City Alliance Building on Strength, and the City of Lancaster Interim Housing Strategy.

Phase 2 will focus on the adaptive reuse of the Delp Wing of the St. Joseph’s Hospital main campus, in partnership with Milagro House, and new construction affordable apartments at 838 Marietta Ave.

The property at Wheatland Avenue has been transferred to Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity to develop affordable homeownership opportunities.
